Ausbildung

Moritz Richard Schmidt was born 1980 in the GDR. After acting on stage and working as an assistant director in Berlin's independent theater community, he studied film directing at the Film University Babelsberg "Konrad Wolf" where he graduated 2012 with the feature film "Wechselspiel". He was a scholar of the German-Israeli Future Forum foundation and participated in an exchange with Sapir College (Israel) in 2009. As of 2013, he is working as a freelance director, producing film content and developing social media strategies for several cultural institutions and film, music or theater festivals such as the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the International Filmfestival Berlin and the European Film Awards.
